Britton is located in the northeast corner of South Dakota, we are 10 miles from the North Dakota border and 50 miles from the Minnesota border. We are located on the Continental Divide.

We have 1241 friendly citizens. The city celebrated its 125th Anniversary in 2009.

Britton has manufacturing, several retail and service businesses, a top notch school and medical facility. Britton is near a number of lakes which provide fishing, boating, camping and swimming. The city has been very progressive; a new swimming pool was built in 2003, a new library in 2002, a baseball/softball complex, and a nine-hole golf course.

In 2016, Britton was named South Dakota's Community of the Year.
